Have you  wondered about the origin of the food that you buy at various ethnic and neighborhood grocery stores. What explains the differences in price, quality and freshness of products that you buy in large grocery chains vs. the ethnic grocery stores? What is the real difference? What are you getting in return for buying a product that is priced lower?

Ever wondered where that bag of lentils really came from? What was the journey of that bag of lentils from its country of origin to your local food store? How old is that bag of lentils? How was it transported? How was it repackaged?  You cannot buy your bag of lentils at the local farmer's market.
