I am a freelance journalist based in the Bay Area, specializing in environmental science and policy and Latin American issues. Recently I have reported for California Watch’s news blog, The Daily Report, KQED’s Climate Watch series and NewsFix blog, the quarterly magazine Race, Poverty and the Environment and the hyper-local site Oakland Local.
Prior to that, I worked as a reporter and researcher at the Center for Investigative Reporting, for their award winning Carbon Watch series, digging deep into carbon markets, forest conservation projects and climate change legislation. Other notable gigs include: GreenBiz.com, Forbes.com and The Oakland Tribune.
I'm a native Oklahoman, where I graduated from the University of Tulsa with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Policy. In 2006 I moved to California to attend UC Berkeley, where I graduated with a master’s in journalism and master’s in Latin American studies.
